The New American History Project: Creating Community through Scholarship and Performance

african mythThe New American History Project supports an ongoing process of research, theatrical development, performance, and international travel courses aimed at reexamining the historical origins of the American identity. The project results from a collaborative relationship between Chapman University and The Actors’ Gang, and draws on supporting creative contributions from preeminent scholars in the Social Sciences and Humanities as widely defined by the disciplines housed in Wilkinson College: Art, Communication Studies, English, History, Languages, Peace Studies, Philosophy, Political Science, Religious Studies, and Sociology. Other participating scholars include accomplished professionals from the Performing Arts, Media Arts and Education.
